PRSSA SJSU
The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is an organization for students interested in public relations and communications. They advocate for rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles, and for diversity in the profession. PRSSA is made up of over 7,000 students and advisers and is organized into +300 chapters across the U.S., Argentina, Colombia, and Peru.
Problem
San Jose State University's chapter of the PRSSA had become inactive due to no leadership. San Jose State University's chapter was previously active and lively, hosting events often. A team from the DBH Agency consisting of those studying PR put it upon themselves to revitalize the chapter and to ensure it continues after we are gone.
Work
We set up new leadership with members of our team. I took on being secretary which involved taking notes on meetings and communicating incoming emails. We connected with former students and other PR professionals so that they can share their experiences working in the PR industry for our meetings.

In order to revitalize the chapter we aggressively promoted our events through emailing, tabling, and social media. I assisted with designing some of our flyers.

Our efforts were a success with our meetings having a sizeable audience and establishing new and dedicated leaders for the chapter.
