Spartan Superway

Spartan Superway is an innovative research project that explores solar technology and public transportation. This project began in 2012 and has since been progressing with the hands-on assistance of San Jose State University students and faculty. Spartan Superway envisions taking root in the San Jose area and later on branching out to other cities and colleges.

Problem

Spartan Superway sought out the DBH Agency for assistance in branding, gaining exposure, and building a presence online.

Work

Our team at the DBH Agency first started by providing Spartan Superway with a PR proposal that laid out our audiences, objectives, and strategy. Spartan Superway was particularly interested in reaching out to the student population and as such, we catered our social media and events towards them.

We also identified that Spartan Superway could use some revamping of its branding. Spartan Superway's logo uses aspects of the San Jose State University logo. Despite being San Jose State University-based, Spartan Superway plans to expand in the future and would like to be inclusive of other colleges and cities. There were also some technical issues with using the likeness of the San Jose State University logo.

I worked with the advisors and leaders of Spartan Superway on creating their new logo. I incorporated different aspects of Spartan Superway's identity and provided numerous variations and iterations before we came to one they all liked.

Below are videos from Spartan Superway, the final logos, and drafts of the logo.
